With effect from 28 July 2025, trading restrictions will be imposed on US Microcap stocks.

This is aligned to Finra’s (US Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) publications on heighten risk of microcap stocks which are susceptible to fraud. For more information, please refer to the Finra website here.

Key Details of the Restriction

·         US Microcap stocks are defined as stocks having a market capitalisation of less than US$300million and trading below US$5.

·         All Microcap stocks cannot be traded online (UTRADE & UTRADE Mobile).

·         Transfer in requests are also restricted.

·         How do you sell your existing holdings?

Ø  Please fill in the US micro-cap Exemption Request Form (click here) and send it to your trading representatives.

Ø  Forms are dated and cannot be reused the next day.

Ø  For sell orders that are not done after the trading session, please submit a new form to place the trade again the next day.

Ø  The final execution is still subject to compliance approvals.
